“Grosse Halle, Kleine Bühne” presents Zirkusfestival.Bern 2027. We will introduce the festival concept and share our plans so far, while opening up space for participation, exchange, and questions. As a sneak peek of what’s to come, we will present three short circus performances. Mia Frabenfroh – Mia Leiggener Circus Arts Company with the show ‘Taburete’: A little stool. Small, familiar and full of possibilities. Combining handstands, headstands and dance, we witness a playful exploration centred on an unassuming object that becomes at once a pedestal, a playmate and a refuge. With tenderness, daring and a pinch of absurdity, the artist explores the contrasts between the small and the large, stability and transience, lightness and intensity. How significant can such a small object really be? Max Gnant – vanderbolten.production with the show ‘Bodenbürste’ ‘Bodenbürste’ is a solo piece lasting around 20 minutes, created independently under the direction of Johannes Dullin and premiered on 15 May 2025 as part of kunst-off Zug at the Burgbachkeller. It explores the themes of buying, selling, lifestyle and a longing for simplicity. Starring: Max Gnant Directed by: Johannes Dullin & Max Gnant Set design: Max Gnant SimbaZazu – Leona Jakob with the piece ‘Who does the washing’ A ‘work in progress’ performance in which hula hoops are transformed into washing machines. Even today, doing the washing is often seen as a task reserved for those perceived as feminine. On stage, the washing is done in a humorous and feminist way.
